Politicians, celebrities and prominent people in business or public life are at risk, from a security perspective. Because of their professional and/or social status or because of their wealth, these people or members of their family in particular are increasingly chosen by criminal groups as victims, either out of vengeance or in order to enrich themselves financially. Such offences have often been planned in detail over a long period of time, the perpetrators using characteristic steps in their planning and organization.

The risk of becoming a victim can be significantly minimized by taking specific preventative measures. Experience shows us that it is particularly important to remove any room for manoeuvre/scope of action on the part of the perpetrator by recognizing dangerous situations early on, reacting fast and reflectively. Professional reaction in dangerous situations is the crucial factor in effectively foiling any attack.

The behavior of the victim can have a decisive influence on the behavior of the perpetrator. That is why Prevent recommends that all members of the family take part in a two-day “Safe and Tough” workshop. This training aims to enhance awareness of and sensitization for potential threats and dangers. Prevent supports the participant in developing and enhancing a healthy awareness of threats and dangers, leading to the ability to recognize them. By means of specific measures, the participants are trained in preventative verbal and non-verbal behavior. In addition, defensive techniques and self-defense are taught.
